Course Adoption

The mission of the International Society for Language Studies is, in part, to encourage and promote critical discourse and research in language matters, broadly conceived, by the provision of a forum and the interchange of information through publications.  We have recognized that the timely distribution of research at a reasonable cost through the organization is a vitally important component of that goal.

To that end, we have made the materials in our publications available as chapter downloads for course adoption.  To assist course instructors, we offer two ways for you to direct students to purchase the materials:

1.  Each item has it's own URL that links directly and only to that item.  You can simply copy the URL and students can return to the site to purchase the item.

2.  For multiple items, it may be more effective to use the "wishlist" function of the site.  Simply add each item you want adopted to a wishlist, and then use the e-mail function to send the entire wishlist URL to yourself for inclusion on your syllabus.  That URL will contain all the items you have suggested or required for the course.  You can clear the wishlist at any time to re-create a list for subsequent semesters.

3.  If you need multiple wishlists, you may register on the website multiple times (as each registered user has her/his own wishlist).  For example, you could user names LangProf1, LangProf2, etc. and create separate wishlists for your courses.

Please remember that when you purchase a single copy of a chapter, you are not authorized to make additional copies for class.  This is a violation of applicable copyright laws.

If you wish to adopt 5 or more chapters/articles for a course, please contact us using the help form for information on group discounts.
